January was a very busy month in grade 1. We started building any chance we could. Students have been spending their library classes working on maker space challenges and working in small groups during science class building different things. We even were able to build a log cabin on our Field trip to Fort CALGARY. In LA we are starting to learn about long vowels and the different letter combinations that make a vowel long. Finally in math we are playing a lot of games to practice 1 more and 1 less. We also are practicing patterns and sorting. I am currently looking for volunteers to come in Monday’s, Wednesday’s, and Fridays to read with the students. If you could come in for just an hour on any of those days please contact me.
